Majors and Minors Baseball League (Hands-on)

The Majors and Minors Baseball League (MMBL) is a "hands-on" DMB "Keeper" league comprised of 24 team organizations and using DMB's Season Projection Disks. Owners will be responsible for managing the games and rosters of 1 Major league club and its farm team. The Major Leagues will play a 162 game schedule and the Minor Leagues will play a balanced 132 game schedule. The home team will be responsible for playing its games with the visiting team sending in a Manager Profile and detailed instructions. The league is looking for owners for 7 teams. For more information and/or a copy of the Constitution, please email the Commissioner at tdecola@adelphia.net. Please go to the league website at http://www.geocities.com/mmblbaseball/ and you can see team rosters, the constitution, and the list of owners. We will be using the 2003 Final Projection Disk for this coming season that will start by mid-April 2004.

Major League Fantasy Baseball (Hands-on)

If you like your DM experience to be as realistic as possi le, then have we got a league for you. it's called Major League Fantasy Baseball (MLFB), brought to you by the same guys who run the National Fantasy Hockey League and the National Fantasy Football League. Full salaries, free agency, trades (of course!), an interactive website and active owners all add up to make this one of the premier leagues around. If you're one of the original owners, you can get in on naming, locating and drafting your own team - from the start!

Games will be simmed in the individual teams's computers unless the games are not reported on time (or, if you prefer, you can ask us to do your games on the home computer - no problem!) We use DMB version 9 and this year's (2004) season disk.

MLFB is just starting up (we have 6 owners and are looking for a total of 20) so this is your chance to get in "on the ground floor" and help influence and shape the course of a brand-new league - make it your baseball home. We don't charge dues at all - maybe in the future is the amount of work warrants it - but for now it's "for the love of the game".

Contact The Commissioner at pepper54@rogers.com if you're interested - but do it soon - the draft starts Sunday, May 20th and the season starts on Monday, June 28th (it runs through to October 31st - and then the playoffs!)

Marvin Miller Baseball League (Centralized)

The MMBL heads into it's 12th season in 2004. While the league itself has been around since 1987, it changed to its current format 12 years ago. We have 24 teams and have adopted the catch phrase of "24 General Managers - Only the Smartest Survive".

The league features 50-55 man rosters using a very sophisticated financial system. MMBL franchises have varying sized revenue markets and are financially rewarded for continued success. We have an automated free agency process, an automated draft process and a website that features tons of historical league data about results, drafts and transactions. We have made every attempt to make the MMBL General Manager experience as much like the MLB GM experience as possible. The best thing I can tell you about MMBL is that imitation is the hightest form of flattery. There are now more than a few simulation leagues who have adopted our structure and format. We still feel we do it best.

Currently the MMBL has no openings. Like any other league of it's kind, we have some turnover, but are rapidly approaching a steady state. If you are interested in being on the waiting list you can visit the site and drop the commissioner an e-mail. We are located at http://www.mmbl.net.

MB Tradition League (Centralized)

The MB Tradition League (MBTL) offers highly competitive play complete with written Constitution covering various drafts, etc. We began in 1988 and have had 8 different winners during the time since.

We will be looking for managers for our Diamond Mind Baseball league. We currently have managers for all 16 teams playing a National League only schedule. Would like to expand to include AL teams next seasons.

If anyone would be interested in a Centralized (games played on one computer) DMB league using the 2000 disk, please visit our site at http://jkjacobs97.freehomepage.com/ Commissioner email is leia2@earthlink.net

Merrimack Valley Table Game Association (Hands-on)

Our members currently come from Dracut; Tewksbury; Shrewsbury; Sterling; Leominster; Winchester; Derry, NH; Milford, NH and Scarborough, ME. Midwest Baseball League (Centralized)

The Midwest Baseball League was founded in 1996 using another simulation on the idea of providing a league for those who have very little time to spend on the internet but still want to manage a professional Baseball club. No internet play is required nor purchase of the simulation. We use 35 man rosters, injuries, and the DH rule. The league currently does not have a salary cap. You need only to submit lineups, pitching rotations and manager tendencies during a given season and the rest is up to the commish. Any further questions can be answered by visiting our web site and viewing the league rules. We especially welcome those who have never been in a league before and are a bit intimidated by all the extensive rules of other leagues. We don't get too serious as to ruin the enjoyment of the league. We are in it to just have fun. Period. Our league web site is http://www.geocities.com/nomercy612001/Midwest.html?1004789989410. If this sounds like the league for you, please email Bryan about available teams at bkd1961@wmconnect.com

Players can be signed to single or multi year contracts and when their contracts expire become restricted or unrestricted free agents depending upon their age. Every new season we will use the updated salaries found in DMB and GMs would have to make the necessary moves to remain under the cap. This is a centralized league which will use actual PA for batters and Innings or Starts for pitchers and players will only be allowed to play positions designated by the game. Please contact Howard at HHvBK@aol.com

MossWood Baseball League (Centralized)

The MossWood Baseball League is a league of 10 teams that is run for fun. We began this league in 1985 and took a break after the 1998 season. We are now starting off with the 1999 Season and will play seasons at a fast pace till we catch up to the 2003 season. After that the rate of play will be slower and just as enjoyable. Active managers are needed and plenty of participation is required, but the key is fun. Contact the commissioner via the website at http://users2.ev1.net/~redroach/Mosswood/.

Entering into its sixth season, the National Baseball Association remains a highly-active Diamond Mind baseball league. It consists of two 12-team conferences, one with the DH and one without, to give the league a major league feel. Our salary and free agent systems are ever-evolving to make our league one of the most enjoyable and competitive out there. Currently our league membership is full, but there is always a possibility of openings, so check in with the commissioner, Roy Roemer III at rrriii@worldnet.att.net, or check out the league website at http://www.geocities.com/nba46/index.html to inquire about possible vacancies.

National Baseball League (Centralized)

The National Baseball League (NBL) is currently in preparation to start it's first season. We have a DH and non-DH conference, setting up a similar structure to the major league. National Redraft League (Hands-on)

Don't be fooled by our name, we do NOT redraft our league on a regular basis (it was a joke 11 years ago that stuck). The National Redraft League is currently in our 11th season. The NRL is a 16-team league that features: no league dues, DH, realistic player restrictions, 30-man rosters (rosters are cut to 20 in the off season) and a minimum of league rules designed to make playing in the NRL as easy as possible. Our website, www.freewebs.com/onlinebaseballleague, is loaded with stats and info about the National Redreaft League. We do not currently have any openings, but if you like what you see, I will put you on our waiting list. This is a wide-open league with a rich history where good managers can rebuild/reload in a hurry. If interested (or if you want to comment on the website) contact Earl Sweeney at seahawks@comcast.net.

The NBA is a newly forming, 12 team, hands on, continuous ownership Diamond Mind Baseball league with no league dues. The NBA will be using Diamond Mind version 9 and the 2004 season disk. The twist is that the NBA (No BALCO Association) will not allow any admitted steroid users on any of the teams. No Fine Print League (Hands-on)

The No Fine Print League (NFPL) is a hands-on, keeper league that will be looking to expand by two teams in 2006. The league's name is based on our philosophy that the rules should be simple and straightforward, and player usage limits easy to understand and follow during the season. The exciting twist to this league is that every season, three randomly selected players from each team file for free agency and managers can keep only one of them. Other than that, the league is pretty similar to any other DMB league. If interested, please contact the commissioner, Mike DeWitt, at mikedewittlaw@yahoo.com.

North American Baseball League (Centralized)

The North American Baseball League (NABL) is a 20-team league just finishing its third season. Our existing owners are knowledgable, competitive, active, friendly and committed to this league, both in the short-term and the long-term. In any new owners, we would like to find the same qualities. Our seasons run from April - October, and we have a league draft in the off-season as well as a Minor League Draft in June of each season. Our league has owners from the United States as well as Canada and we are looking for active owners to join our league. There are currently several expansion openings. If you are interested, please check out our website: http://nabl.zarras.net or e-mail the Commish at: commish@nabl.zarras.net

North American Diamond Association (Hands-on)

NADA, a stable draft league of long standing, is noted for a strong sense of camaraderie, good competitive balance, fairly simple rules, and a long and successful history. NADA, with 26 teams of 37-man rosters, plays a full 160-game season, with playoffs, using a unique series-by-series system. There is a free agent draft in October, lively off-season trading, and a rookie draft in January, giving every team a chance to compete. Other percs include a yearbook, Hall of Fame, and all-time individual and team records. Manager turnover is quite low, with a number of present team managers being charter league members. Check us out at our website, http://nadabaseball.bravepages.com or contact membership coordinator Brent Marsden, zenbrent@yahoo.com, for more info. Inquiries are always welcome.

North Valley League (Centralized)

Named after my favorite movie of all time, the Bad News Bears. This historical league uses DMB v8 to recreate past seasons. We started in 1960, and will be moving forward all the way to the present, in time. We have 25 man rosters and keep only 5 players from season to season. This league goes FAST. Iplay between 4-6 games per team per day and try to finish 4 seasons per calendar year. You get to create a custom stadium for your team. The NVL does not have a fancy webpage or take a lot of work for me, but I recruited 16 of the best managers I knew and it is ultra competitive. We may or may not be expanding by four teams for 1961, so let me know ASAP if you have experience and want to join a really fun league. No dues are required ever.

Oh yes, and major awards are named after Bad News Bears players. The Kelly Leak Award goes to the best hitter in each league. The Amanda Whurlizer Award goes to best pitcher. The Morris Buttermaker Award goes to best manager. And the dreaded Timmy Lupus Award goes to the worst hitter in the league.

Check out the NVL homepage at http://members.aol.com/MLanza1974/nvl.htm and you can email me at MLanza1974@aol.com if interested.

Pennant Fever Baseball League 1 (Hands-on)

The PFBL I (Pennant Fever Baseball League 1) is one of the original Diamond Mind leagues formed. We have 28 teams in two leagues of three divisions each. We use the players from the most recently completed year (currently the 2005 season disk). We play a 162 game schedule and each owner is responsible for playing their 81 home games. Since we currently have 28 teams, we use a generated schedule to ensure each team plays the same amount of home and away games. We use an expanded playoff system with 3 wildcard teams as well as the three division winners from each league making the playoffs. The two best teams in each league receive first round byes in the playoffs. There is a rookie draft held by phone early in February each year. The draft order in the first round is competitive, while the following rounds are based on inverse order of finish. Free agents are drafted in March using a free agent dollar system. Any remaining unemployed players can be signed after free agency, and in June. Trading occurs in the off season and in June. The League currently has one opening and is looking for an owner. If you have any questions, or are interested in joining the PFBL, please contact our commissioner Rob Schwinger at raschwinger@verizon.net and he will be glad to assist you.

Pittsburgh Street League (Hands-on)

Founded in 1991, we are a continuous ownership league. The majority of our members are from the Pittsburgh, PA and surrounding area. We are a 10 team league. Here are the basics: We are two 5-team divisions and the game schedule is weighted towards your division foes; top 2 teams in each division make the playoffs. All playoff series are 'best-of 7'. We have simple rules and try to keep things as easy as possible. The league is non-DH and uses players from both the NL and AL. No usage limitations but currently batters with less than 100 AB and pitchers with less than 25 innings pitched are not eligible for the draft. 35 man rosters--25 players on the active roster.

Our season runs from March until October using the most recent season disk and game version. We play once a week over the internet and try to do one face-to-face play each month except June thru August. If you live too far away to do face-to-face, you can do Netplay. Managers must own the latest version of the game as well as the newest season disk. We do not collect dues/membership fees. We encourage/want manager participation. We want you to play/manage as many of your games as possible--discuss/make trades and talk to each other about baseball! Requested participation includes: keeping your manager profiles current, ability to draft/play live over the net and if possible - in person, modest ability in "smack talk" and a good sense of humor, a decent knowledge of baseball, and the desire, dedication and love of baseball to build a quality team through crafty General and Field management.

If you would like to talk to us and/or get on a waiting list or see our League Constitution, please contact Tim at scesce2@comcast.net.

If you're a buff on baseball history and love playing in leagues using players from baseball's glorious past, then these Seasons Past Baseball Leagues were designed with you in mind. SPB is actually 8 separate leagues that operate in a season to season draft league format.

We are always looking for new and dependable managers who are appointed as needed. I maintain a "future managers list" to fill our openings. You can pick your preferences for leagues you would like to manage in. All you need do is contact me and let me know what SPB leagues you would like to manage in.

Following is a brief history of our Eight (8) Seasons Past BB Leagues: SPB-I began with play of the 1954 season in 1992 and currently plays the 1969 season. SPB-II began with the 1944 season in 1994, and currently plays the 1957 season. SPB-III began with the1927 season in 1995 and currently plays the 1937 season. SPB-IV began in 1997 with play of the 1970 season and currently plays the 1978 season. SPB-V began in 2001 with play of the 1985 season and currently plays the 1989 season. SPB-100 began in 2004 with the 1905 season and currently plays the 1906 season. SPB-NOW began in 2003 and currently plays the 2005 season. SPB-Classic drafts players using DMB's All-time Greatest Player's disk.

So, once again, if you're interested in managing in ANY or ALL of these historical leagues, please send me your name and email address to be added to the "future SPB manager list".

For further information, be sure to visit our website at http://seasonspastbaseball.com. On the left hand side of the main SPB webpage you will see the section on how to join SPB. Do not hesitate, as we're always on the lookout for serious minded managers in our historically based leagues. I will then contact you for some further personal info on how to join SPB. Or, if you prefer, you can contact me, as commissioner of SPB, directly at: gplunkit@yahoo.com or our webmaster John Turnbull at JTurnbullOH@aol.com , if you have any questions, or just wish to join.

All 8 leagues have annual dues at just $3.00. Each manager is responsible for purchasing his own copy of the season disk being played.
