From this page, you can download Diamond Mind Baseball season disks that
have been prepared by customers who have asked us to make their work available
for others to enjoy. Feel free to download any of these seasons at no
charge.
We are happy to offer this page as a free service to season disk authors
and to customers who wish to use these season disks. If you find errors
or have questions, please contact the author using the information provided
in the listings below. If the author makes corrections, we will endeavor
to post the corrected versions on a timely basis and to provide enough
information on this page to help you determine whether you have the latest
version.
Please understand that Diamond Mind's involvement is limited to maintaining
this page. We have not tested these disks. We do not guarantee their completeness
or correctness. And we cannot provide technical support for the disks
listed here.
With that understanding, we wish you the best of luck in finding some
seasons that will add to your enjoyment of your Diamond Mind Baseball
game.
Downloading and Installation Instructions
Each of the files on this page is a self-extracting zip file. This is
the same format used for season disks that are created and sold by Diamond
Mind, so you can use the same methods for installing them.
When you download the file, your web browser will give you the opportunity
to choose a directory in which to place the downloaded file, and it may
ask you to provide a file name. You can choose any directory and file
name you like, but make sure the file name has the .exe for the extension.
Without this, your attempt to expand the file will likely fail.
(Version 8) After you have downloaded the file, start Diamond Mind Baseball
and choose the "Install season disk..." command from the File
menu. When Windows pops up the Open File dialog, navigate to the folder
to which you previously downloaded the file, then choose that file to
install it.
(Version 7) Copy the downloaded file to a floppy disk, start Diamond
Mind Baseball, choose Setup from the main menu , then choose the Install
command. Place the diskette in drive a: or b:, and indicate on the popup
form which drive you are installing from. Diamond Mind Baseball then scans
the diskette and pops up a list of all season disks it was able to find.
After you select the one you wish to install, the game suggests a drive
and directory name on your hard disk. When you have either accepted the
suggested name or provided your own, Setup expands the files into the
right location and adds the directory to the list on the screen.
[Alternate method for version 7 files] The second method involves a few
more steps but does not require that you copy the file to a floppy disk.
Start by creating a directory/folder under your Diamond Mind Baseball
game directory/folder. The game directory is called c:\dmb7 on most computers,
but may differ if you chose a different name when you installed the game.
Then copy the downloaded file into that newly-created directory. Once
the file is in that directory, you can expand it. For DOS users, use the
CD command to make that the current directory, then type the file name
and press Enter. For Windows95 users, you can use Explorer to view the
contents of the folder that contains the file and double-click on the
file to expand it. When the file has been expanded, you'll need to tell
Diamond Mind Baseball that there's a new season disk out there. To do
this, follow the instructions on pages 96-98 of the Version 7 User Guide.
You'll be using the PlayerDir command to create a reference to this new
directory/folder.

1950s Pacific Coast League Seasons (version 8 editions)
Author: Stephen Davis, Pleasant Hill, CA
Email: sjdavis@pon.net
Requires: Diamond Mind Baseball version 8
Added: June 25, 2002 (except 1951, which was added July 17, 2002)
Why the Pacific Coast League? When Stephen was young there were no major
league teams on the West coast. The PCL was the only game in town. Before
expansion of the major leagues, quite a few good players never made it
to the "Show" mainly because the money they made in the minors
was as good or better than what they could make in the majors. The PCL
did sell to and receive players from the majors. With the good weather
the PCL would play as many as 200 games per team per season with the season
running from early April until late September.
